Terms of Service

The terms that apply when you request a quote from, book, or use the services of 1stMove.

Last updated: 8 August 2026

Introduction

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the 1stMove website (1stmove.ae) and the moving, packing, storage and relocation services we provide across Dubai and the wider United Arab Emirates. In these Terms, "1stMove", "we", "us" and "our" refer to 1stMove; "you" refers to the customer requesting or receiving our services.

By requesting a quote, making a booking, or using our services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use our services. If you have any questions, contact us using the details at the end of this page.

Our Services

1stMove provides residential and commercial moving services, including home, villa and office relocations, packing and unpacking, furniture disassembly and reassembly, secure storage, and local, inter-emirate and international moves.

The exact services included in your move are those set out in the quote we provide to you. Any additional services requested on or before moving day may affect the price and are subject to availability.

Quotes and Pricing

Quotes are based on the information you give us and, where carried out, a survey of the items to be moved. A quote is an estimate of the cost for the scope described; it is not a fixed price if the actual scope on moving day differs from what was quoted.

If the volume of items, access conditions, distance, or services required differ materially from what the quote was based on, the price may be adjusted accordingly. We will always aim to make any such change clear to you before proceeding. Payment terms are as set out in your quote or booking confirmation.

Bookings, Rescheduling and Cancellations

A booking is confirmed once we have agreed a date and the details of your move with you. If you need to reschedule or cancel, please let us know as early as possible so we can accommodate the change and free up the slot for other customers.

Rescheduling and cancellation arrangements, including any notice period or fees that may apply, are as communicated to you at the time of booking. Moves are also subject to our crew and vehicle availability on the requested date.

Your Responsibilities

To help your move go smoothly, you are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate and complete information about your move, including addresses, access, property type and the items to be moved.
  • Arranging any building or community move permits (NOC), service-elevator bookings, parking and access needed at both the origin and destination, unless we have agreed to assist with these.
  • Telling us in advance about any items requiring special handling (e.g. pianos, artwork, safes, high-value or fragile items).
  • Ensuring someone authorised is available at both locations during the move to give access and directions.
  • Not asking us to transport prohibited items (see below).

Items We Cannot Move

For safety and legal reasons, we cannot transport certain items. These include hazardous, flammable or explosive materials, illegal substances, firearms and ammunition, and perishable goods (unless specifically arranged as part of a cold or frozen storage service).

We also recommend that you personally carry cash, jewellery, important documents, and irreplaceable valuables rather than including them in the move. We may decline to handle such items, and any liability for them is limited as described below.

Liability and Care of Your Belongings

We handle your belongings with professional care and take reasonable steps to protect them during packing, loading, transport and unloading. If any item is lost or damaged due to our negligence, we will work with you to resolve it fairly; any claim should be reported to us promptly, with supporting details, so we can investigate.

Our responsibility is limited in certain circumstances, including: damage to items packed by you rather than by our crew; pre-existing damage or wear; items of exceptional value that were not declared to us in advance; and mechanical or electrical faults in appliances or electronics that are not accompanied by external damage. The extent of any cover, and how claims are handled, is as agreed in your quote or booking.

Delays and Circumstances Beyond Our Control

We plan every move to run on time, but some factors are outside our control — including traffic, weather, building or community access restrictions, service-elevator availability, and, for international moves, customs and shipping timelines. Where such factors cause a delay, we will keep you informed and do our best to minimise the impact, but we are not liable for delays caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Use of This Website

The content on 1stmove.ae — including text, images, branding and design — belongs to 1stMove and may not be copied or reused without our permission. You agree to use the website lawfully and not to misuse it, including by submitting false information through our forms or attempting to disrupt the site.

Governing Law

These Terms, and any services we provide, are governed by the laws of the Emirate of Dubai and the applicable federal laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any dispute arising in connection with them is subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Dubai.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services or legal requirements. The latest version will always be published on this page with the date it was last updated. Continuing to use our services after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
